Nanny Share Placements

All-Inclusive Nanny Shares: Matching, Screening, Payroll, Taxes, Employment Support & Ongoing Care

Children In Classroom

What Is a Nanny Share?

A nanny share is a childcare arrangement where two families share the same nanny, allowing both families to receive personalized care while sharing the cost of the nanny’s hourly rate. Families are responsible for finding and establishing their own nanny share partnership before beginning the placement process with Coastal Child Care.

We carefully vet and match the nanny and help coordinate the families, schedules, and expectations to create a successful arrangement. Coastal also handles the employment side behind the scenes—you pay Coastal, and we handle paying your nanny directly. From W-2 payroll, nanny taxes, administrative tracking, and ongoing support, we take care of the details so families can focus on what matters most: their children.

☀︎

Timeframe

We recommend beginning this placement process 10+ weeks before your desired start date. However, we have been able to complete placements less than 2 weeks in the past, but cannot be guaranteed.

☀︎

Launch Meeting

Both families together meet virtually with our Coastal Family Specialist to go over everything we need to know about your placement; including your schedule, responsibilities, ideal candidate, household needs, and expectations.

☀︎

Complete a Q&A

Both families need to create your Coastal Child Care profile and let us know you’re interested in a nanny share placement. Our team will reach out by phone to learn a little more about your families and childcare needs.

☀︎

Nanny Job Posting

Your Family Specialist will create a personalized job posting based on the launch meeting. We’ll send it to both families for review and approval before beginning the search.

☀︎

Pay Your Launch Fee

A $200 non-refundable launch fee per family is required to launch your personalized nanny share placement search. This fee covers the time and resources our team dedicates to building and managing your search.

☀︎

 Profiles & Interview

Once your search is underway, we’ll begin presenting qualified nanny profiles. Usually, within a few weeks, you’ll begin receiving candidates and can schedule interviews.

Requirements

Minimum Hours: Both families must commit to a minimum of 30 scheduled hours per week, with the exact same recurring schedule.

Matching Schedules: Both families must have identical working hours. A nanny share cannot accommodate different schedules between families.

Guaranteed Hours: Guaranteed hours must match the nanny’s full scheduled weekly hours. Each family is responsible for paying their half of the guaranteed hours, even if one family chooses to take time off or does not need care on a scheduled day. This ensures the nanny receives their agreed-upon compensation.

Guaranteed hours do not apply when the nanny is unavailable due to vacation, illness, or other approved time off.

Preferred Duration: Nanny share placements require a minimum commitment of 6 months. Both families must have the same start and end date for the arrangement. Additional contractual fees may apply for placements shorter than 6 months.
