What Is a Mother’s Helper?
A Mother’s Helper provides extra hands while a parent remains home and available at all times. Unlike a nanny, they may have little to no formal childcare experience, but are still 18+ years old. With experience often coming from younger siblings, church nurseries, babysitting, or helping family. They can assist with childcare, bottles, laundry, tidying, toys, meal prep, and other light household tasks, but parents should be prepared to provide guidance, instructions, and supervision.
A Mother’s Helper is an extra set of hands, not a replacement for a parent or professional nanny.

Who Is a Mother’s Helper Best For?
Mother’s Helpers are a great fit for parents working from home with a flexible schedule, new or postpartum parents needing an extra set of hands, or families who need help keeping up with everyday childcare and household tasks. They’re especially helpful for things like washing bottles, folding baby laundry, tidying up, entertaining older children, or helping with daily routines.
A parent or designated adult must remain home and available at all times during a Mother’s Helper shift to provide guidance, answer questions, and assist with supervision as needed.
