Your Dedicated Coastal Placement Nanny

A placement nanny is a professional caregiver employed by Coastal Child Care to provide consistent, long-term care. Unlike occasional babysitters, placement nannies are part of a fully managed service, including payroll, taxes, and ongoing support.

Placement Nanny Requirements:

  • Minimum Hours: At least 20 working hours per week.

    • Working Hours: The total hours your nanny is usually scheduled to work each week.

  • Guaranteed Hours: Minimum of within 10 hours of the total (starting at a minimum of 20 hours per week) usual weekly schedule.

    • Guaranteed Hours: The minimum hours your family commits to pay each week, even with schedule changes. Example: If a family has 40 working hours, the guaranteed hours must be at least 30 per week.

  • Preferred Duration: Nannies are preferred for 6 months or longer (summer exceptions apply). For placements under 6 months, please email info@coastalchildcare.com for details.

All-Inclusive Family Rates Explained

  • All-Inclusive Family Hourly Rate =
    Caregiver’s Wage + Nanny Taxes + Coastal’s Service Percentage

  • Caregiver Wage: The agreed-upon rate between your family and your nanny. This rate you can negotiate with nanny candidates during interviews.

    • Caregiver Rates mandatorily start at $18/hour.

  • Nanny Taxes (Additional 20%): The IRS required taxes, payroll expenses, workman's compensation, and liability insurance associated with nanny employment.

  • Service Percentage (Additional 20%): Covers full vetting and screening of highly qualified nannies, ongoing administrative support (contracts, trainings, payroll, CPR/First Aid compliance, and time tracking), and continuous placement support — including guidance on negotiations, communication facilitation, monthly bonuses, team-building, and, if needed, nanny replacement.
